HEART is the advocate for the "underdog" whether feline or canine, fur or feather.
Since HEART was formed in 1984, we have saved the lives of thousands of animals!

URGENT NEED FOR FOSTER HOMES!!
HEART does not have a shelter facility and relies on volunteer foster homes.
It's true that no one person can save them all - but if you can make a difference in the life of even one animal,
your contribution is invaluable!! For more information visit our Foster Program page.

SAVING ANIMALS LIVES...
THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO

I am an animal rescuer.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I will hand raise a field mouse.
I will make friends with a vulture.
My work is never done.
My house is never quiet.
My wallet is always empty.
But my heart is always full.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who give so much of their time. With your help HEART will continue to rescue as many stray animals as we possibly can. There are just too many little faces looking for help and safety to not keep going! There is a special place in our hearts for all of you!! We ask for your continued support until we no longer have a job to do!!

It's True That No One Person Can Save Them All…
But if You Can Make a Difference in the Life of Just One Animal, Your Contribution is Invaluable!!

HEART relies solely on the time, energy, and dedication of volunteers. Brought together by a love of animals, our volunteers save the lives of hundreds of animals each year. It's quite a "high" when we are able to make a difference in the life of a deserving animal.

HEART has a Cat Department and a Dog Department. You must be 18 years of age or older to be a volunteer. Those under 18 may participate if their parents are active members of HEART. Active members must complete a Volunteer Application and are expected to perform a regular “paws-on” in the Cat or Dog Department. There are a variety of ways you can get involved. The wagging tails and purrs of the grateful animals you are helping will be your reward!!
